White-out assembly

Made for a Solidworks course assignment. The goal was to replicate a real object 1:1 with maximum precision. I chose to build a white-out as it was an interesting challenge for a weekend assignment. The model replicates all of the hard plastic parts and takes into account draft angles and tolerances. These details were possible thanks to a caliper.

Half of the outer shell in progress. I based each measurement off of the original. The each measurement was made in relation to the tip of the white out in bottom of the image.

When I measure an item with enough precision, I can learn its draft angles, tolerances, and other details that make manufacturing a functional device possible. Disassembling and analyzing the components helps me understand how the white out worked.
